Shopreme wins the Best Retail Cases Award in the category “Sightings in Covid-19: Rethinking Retail” for its Scan & Go solution with the Austrian REWE subsidiary Billa AG. Scan & Go is a digital solution that allows customers to scan and pay for their products directly in an app and leave the shop without having to queue. In the course of the Best Retail Cases Award, 2,500 users and a five-member media jury selected the best digital retail innovations. On 2 September 2020, the Best Retail Cases Award for the best retail innovations in six different categories was presented for the first time. Both the media jury and the users of shopreme’s Scan & Go solution used by the Austrian food retailer Billa were unanimous. As the winner of the special category “Sightings in Covid-19: Rethinking Retail”, the shopreme solution came out on top.

Customers simply scan the desired products with the Scan & Go app and then pay directly in the app. Queues are a thing of the past. In addition to contactless shopping, shopreme offers many other advantages for retailers and customers. The unique and convenient shopping experience can be enhanced with additional shopreme features such as indoor navigation, multimedia product information, shared shopping lists, personalized recommendations, and location-based advertising to create a true 360-degree omnichannel experience.

At the Best Retail Cases Award, over 2,500 users and a five-member media jury voted for 38 cases in six categories. shopreme and Billa were the only team to convince both groups and thus win both votes. They were able to beat the Occupancy Management and Face Mask Detection System submitted by Aldi, Lidl & Co as well as the customer counting system by Denner in the category “Worth seeing” in the Covid era.

Florian Burgstaller, managing director of shopreme GmbH, explains, “The award fills the entire team with pride. Rank 1 in the user vote also shows us that the focus on the user experience was worthwhile. With retail applications, everything boils down to user acceptance. We are also excited that the solution we’ve invested so much time and effort in is making life safer and more convenient for retail employees and customers alike.”
